Even when the last ding-dong of doom has clanged and faded from the last worthless rock, hanging tideless in the last red and dying evening, that even then there will still be one more sound: that of man's puny inexhaustible voice.... - William Faulkner
There’s a piece of life in me
A beating in my heart
A searching in my soul that I just can’t explain
There’s a conscience that rouses me
A purpose I have to prove
A compassion within me, I find so palpable
There’s a thirst inside of me
A hunger I have to tame
A longing for more life; that I should never have
There’s a truth that I must tell
A sacrifice only I must make
A legacy I can leave, so that I can be called great
There’s a touch I crave
A grip I must not lose
A gift I have been given that could bring me before kings
There’s a hope I have been shown
A grace so amazing
There are moments I’m sure, this life isn’t really mine
There’s a question I must answer
A greater calling than me
There’s a life that is not just here now, but for eternity
There is a light I bring
There is a love I am ready to give
There is a life I have to live.
